William Osteen Obituary

William Montie (Bill) Osteen, 92, of Hendersonville (formerly of Weaverville), passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021, at his residence. Born November 11, 1928 in Henderson County, he was the son of the late R Clingman Osteen and Irene Redden Osteen. His siblings were Ralph Osteen (deceased) and wife Laura Hamilton Osteen (deceased), Herbert Osteen (deceased) and wife Mary Stepp Osteen, and Lois Osteen Rogers (deceased) and husband Harry Rogers (deceased). He had many nieces and nephews. Bill was an active member of Erwin Hills Seventh-day Adventist Church. A graduate of Flat Rock High School, he was an avid golfer. He worked in industry at Taylor Instrument and Hammarland Manufacturing Co in Madison County. After retirement from industry, he worked as a real estate broker for several years. Bill is survived by his wife of 70 years, Betty Hendrix Osteen. Left to cherish his memory, in addition to his wife, are three children, Kevin Osteen and wife Linda Lewis Osteen of Weaverville, NC, Pamela Osteen Turner and husband Mark Turner of Middleburg, FL, and Dean Osteen and wife Debby Fender Osteen of Weaverville, NC. His is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. There will be no service at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
