William Wesley (“Will”) Mears

William Wesley (“Will”) Mears, forty-seven, died March 6, 2025. He was born April 9, 1977, to Judy Walker Mears and the late Calvin Joseph Mears in Augusta, Georgia.

            Will enjoyed music, art and movies. He loved to laugh, and loved his family. Will liked nature and loved to hike and camp.

            In addition to his father, Will was preceded in death by brothers Patrick Mark Ward and Calvin Joseph Mears, Jr.

            He is survived by his mother, now of Candler, North Carolina; children, William Adli Mears and Abigail Simone Mears, both of Fletcher, North Carolina; siblings, Susan Elizabeth Mears of Candler, and Marquis Hurst of Asheville, North Carolina; nephew, Patrick Mark Ward, Jr., of Asheville; several loving aunts and uncles; and numerous cousins.

            A service will be held at two o’clock the afternoon of April 9, 2025, at St. Eugene Catholic Church. Reverend Patrick Cahill will officiate.
