Born August 31, 1935 in Greenville, NC to the late John W. and Lillian Williams Kirkpatrick, Bill died on September 27, 2025 following a brief illness. He had three careers spanning 45 years: Business Development positions with the Orangeburg Chamber of Commerce, Director of Business Development at LBC&W Architects and Engineers, Columbia, SC and also for NHPQ in Greeley, CO; and owner of Forge Mountain Foods in Hendersonville, NC for 20 years. He was active in the Lake Summit Property Owners Association and Foundation for many years and was a full-time resident of the lake for nearly 40 years. He was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church, active in their music programs and while in Columbia, he helped found the Windsor United Methodist Church. He served in the Army and Army Reserves. He is predeceased by his college sweetheart &wife of 64 years Ann Croom Kirkpatrick and his sister Dorothy K. Trowell; and survived by his three children: William W. Jr. (Kirk) & his wife Tricia in San Francisco, Jim in Flat Rock, NC, and Lisa and her husband Kenn in Waynesville, NC, two grandchildren, Emma and William from CA, and two step grandchildren, Chris and Alex Jacobine. He graduated from Spartanburg High in 1953 and Wofford College in 1957. He played trumpet with the Aristocrats Dance Band, the Spartanburg Symphony, and later with the Buddy K Big Band. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
