Walter John Wilson, Jr., 79, of Alexander, NC passed away peacefully on Friday, May 28, 2021, at the John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center in Asheville, NC. Born May 5, 1942, in Asheville, NC, he was the son of the late Walter John Wilson, Sr. and Edith Clemons Wilson. He was a graduate of Clyde A. Erwin High School class of 1960. After many years in the textile industry, he retired from Dixie Yarns in Gastonia, NC after 12 years of service. Of his many enjoyments in life playing his guitar and singing at the Depot in Marshall, NC and spending time with his grandchildren at Lake Wiley on his boat, Mo Betta, were among his favorites. He enjoyed living life on his own terms and cherished every moment. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Wilson. Surviving is his son, John W. Wilson and his spouse, Ginger, of Alexander, NC; sister, Wilma Jean Allen and her spouse, George, of Candler; grandchildren: Justin Wilson and his spouse, Olivia, of Marshall, NC, Kyle Wilson and his fiancé, Paige, of Atlanta, GA, Luke and Kalyn Wilson both of Alexander, NC; and great grandson, Theo John Wilson. A private family service will be held at a later date. The family would like to express their gratitude to CarePartners for the care they provided Mr. Wilson.
