Vernon Thomas Reese

Vernon Thomas Reese, 68, formerly of Asheville, NC left this world to be with the Lord on September 3rd of 2020.

He is preceded in death by his parents Vernon James Reese and Helen Stone Moore, brother William Reese, and sister Kay Houck. Vernon was a devoted Christian and a loving father to his son Vernon Thomas Reese II and wife Jeanna Barnette of Asheville, NC. He was a loving father to daughter Leslie Reese Yaung and her husband Joe Yaung of Flat Rock, NC.  He was a loving grandfather to Ariana Yaung who he adored and loved dearly.  He is survived by his sisters Valerie Passmore of Valdese, NC, Misty Fox of Leicester, NC, Heather Reese of Asheville, NC and stepmother Gertie Reese of Asheville, NC.

Vernon was a very giving and loving person to everyone and never met a stranger. He was a hard-worker with a creative mind and had the talent to go along with it.  In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, rock hunting, and spending time with his family.

Vernon was the owner of Asheville Sign Company for many years.  Later he moved to Mooresville, NC and retired from Donaldson Fabrication before returning to back to Asheville. 

The children would like to thank Richmond Hill Rest Home and staff for many years of excellent care.  They would also like to recognize Blue Ridge Health and Rehab in Hendersonville, NC for the love and excellent care he received.

At his request the family will be holding a private celebration in his honor.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to ABCCM at “abccm.org”.

Asheville Area Alternative Services are handling his arrangements.
