Velna Genevieve (Adams) Evans

Velna ("VeI") Genevieve Adams Fiske, Lampron, Evans passed away at the age of 100 years old, in her apartment at Harmony at Reynolds Mountain, Asheville, NC surrounded by her family and many friends, on Thursday August 20, 2020. Velna was born on January 12, 1920 in Hanover, New Hampshire to Jennie Harding Adams and Ralph Sanders Adams in Hanover, NH. Velna was a curious, intelligent, resourceful person who traveled to many parts of world, who read, who enjoyed playing bridge, poker, bingo, golf, who enjoyed listening to classical guitar and popular piano music, who enjoyed creative arts such as sewing, copper enameling, knitting, oil painting, and writing, and who enjoyed making friends and keeping those friendships. Her identification with butterflies remained with her all her life, because Velna believed in the importance of making and keeping friendships Velna is survived by her daughter and son-in-law (Leicester, NC), Deborah Murray and Finnie Murray; by her granddaughter and family (Missouri), Kathleen Murray Preble and Micheal C Preble and their sons, Louden and Liam; by her Lampron step children and their families (all in North Carolina) Louise Lampron-Welker, Joseph Lampron, Allen Lampron, Katherine Lampron, and Judith Lampron Cordell, and by the Evans step children and their families (all in Wisconsin) Carol Evans Nicholson, Ann Evans Tennyson, Jane Evans Krenz, Robert Evans Jr.; by her Murray step-grandsons and their families Michael E. Murray and Matthew J. Murray; and by her nephew and family (Wyoming) Alden R. Mason. Velna is predeceased by her parents, Jennie Adams Leone and Ralph Sanders, step-father, Charles Leone, all three husbands, Reginald E. Fiske, Anthony J Lampron, and Robert Evans, her sister and brother-in-law, Cynthia and Leland Mason, and her niece, Judith Mason. A memorial service is being planned for family and friends at Harmony at Reynolds Mountain, Asheville on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 6PM. A family memorial service will be held during December 2020. Velna's remains will be interred at a time to be determined near Reginald E. Fiske at the Harvey Lake Cemetery, Northwood, NH. Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Bates College, St Jude’s Hospital, or Four Seasons Hospice Care.
