Trudy Ellen (Kline) Roth

Trudy Ellen Kline Roth age 79 of Marion North Carolina died at Care Partners Hospice Solace Center in Asheville NC on January 1st, 2025 at 11:11 am with her beloved husband holding her hand. Trudy was born April 5th, 1945 in Miami Florida to Mack and Arlene Kline.

Trudy was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Vickie Rodriguez and one brother Edward Sheeran.

Trudy grew up in Miami Florida and moved to the mountains of Western North Carolina in 1979 where she lived off the grid in a log cabin that she built by hand with her husband and children. Trudy and Skip made their own power from the waterfall behind the cabin and grew most of their own food. While living on the mountain she enjoyed gardening, hiking, making homemade wine and connecting to the wildlife. Trudy had a very special energy and was always a champion for the underdog and wild animals. Once Trudy and Skip moved to Marion the wildlife seemed to follow as she had several raccoon, groundhog and possum friends over the years.

Trudy was an amazing artist and creative in so many ways. Crocheting beautiful blankets for her children and friends, painting landscapes and making pottery were just a few ways she expressed herself creatively. Trudy’s biggest passion was growing things especially roses, loving her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Trudy graduated from Gardner-Webb University with a bachelor’s degree in Art. Trudy had a great love of literature and has published several poems. Over the years she wore many hats in the workforce but enjoyed teaching art to adults living with a disability the most. A favorite hobby of Trudy’s was swimming aerobics. She loved her YMCA community, where she will be greatly missed.

Trudy is survived by her husband of 55 years Allen Skip Roth, five children. E,Allen Warren (Beverly) Timothy Roth, Christopher Roth (Melissa), Annie Jones (Glen) and Linda Hamrick. Four grandchildren Damien Roth, Allen Roth, Brock Jones and Lanie Hamrick (Braydon). Two very special nephews Danny and Scott and Trudy also has one great grandchild.

Celebration of Trudy’s life will be planned at a later date.
