Trudy Michelle Garner

Trudy Michelle Garner, 52, of Candler passed away peacefully on Friday, December 20, 2019 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock.  Born on May 28, 1967 in Buncombe County, NC, she was a daughter of Stanley and Peggy Morris of Knoxville, TN.  She attended Charles D. Owen High School class of 1985 and was employed at the Rescue Mission Thrift Store in Asheville as store manager.  Of her many passions, working with Project Re-Entry, which help people make the transition from a correctional facility to mainstream society, and spoiling her grandchildren were among her favorites.  Surviving are her children, Tristan Cornette and her spouse, Mark, and Matthew Bowman and his spouse, Ashley, all of Candler; siblings, Kenneth Morris and his spouse, Tammy, of N. Augusta, SC, and Rebecca Schrader and her spouse, Mark, of Knoxville, TN; and three wonderful grandchildren, Madison, Courtney, and Gracie. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 4, 2020 in the chapel of Asheville Area Alternative Funeral and Cremation Services.
