Tony Lane Dodd

Tony Lane Dodd, 43, of Woodfin, NC passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024 at his home. He was born October 28, 1980 in Jackson, AL although he resided in the Asheville, NC area most of his life, to Doris Mae Banks Dodd of Woodfin and the late Gerald Calvin Dodd Sr. He was the owner and operator of Dodd Electric Construction and a member of First Baptist Church in Jonesborough, TN. Of his many hobbies playing the guitar and listening to music were among his favorites. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a step-father, David P. Wells; uncle, Gary L. Banks; and grandparents, J.B. Dodd, Vivian Zoover, Aris M. Banks, and Ralph L. Banks. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Logan Andrew Dodd and Morgan Wesley Dodd both of Spartanburg, SC; brother, Jerry L. Dodd of Asheville, NC; “Brother in Christ”, Byron Tolley (Holly) and their children, Beau and Sophie, of Jonesbough, TN; “Brotherly Friend”, Scotty Robinson of Weaverville, NC; aunts, Debbie McMahan (Jamie) of Swannanoa, NC, Kathy Bennett of Asheville, NC, and Donna Stapleton of Florida; nephew, Austin Lee Dodd of Asheville, NC; many additional aunts, uncles, and cousins. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Special thanks to Byron Tolley and family and to all of Tony’s music family for making him happy thru music, which he loved and played with his special guitar.
