Tony Allen Obituary

Tony Leon Allen, AKA, Your Cousin TL, the Big, Brown, Yankee from Detroit, always thanked you for encouraging his behavior.  He was born on February 10, 1970. After having navigated a much longer-than-prognosted time with stage four Angiosarcoma, he gently set aside his body on Friday, February 16, 2024.  He is survived by his mother, Tricia Allen, his sister, Kimberly Joy, his "Little Big Sister¨,Kelar, and his greatest love, Donetta ¨D¨ Pedroza.  Also special to him were his Moma, Dan, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, friends, neighbors, fellow volunteers, former classmates, former workmates, both denominational and non-denominational belief leaders and community service members, not to mention countless listeners/fans.  Besides the consistent, straight-talkin ́ love he shared with anyone who had two ears, his life's greatest work was the nationally and locally award-winning show, Stank Free Radio, which is continuing to be played as a legacy time-slot on the Asheville dial, 103.3, as well as on the station website, and via archives on the app. His passing was preceded by his father, Serviceman Albert Allen, his Allen grandparents, Bill and Autrey Donaldson, and Grandma Durden, his beloved Aunt Barbria, and his dear cousin, Joy.  Celebrations of his life will happen not only during Asheville FM tributes throughout the year, but also in parties around town in the building where he lived, around places he did DJ gigs in Asheville, in Detroit, and possibly even in Hudson County, NJ.Your Cousin TL is deeply missed, but his voice lives on, and you can still hear his reminder, ¨Peace, two fingers¨. In lieu of flowers, if anyone is so moved, ¨Tickle the donate button¨ at the community station website,
