Terry Eugene Herren

Terry Eugene Herren, 74 of Asheville, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, October 13.

He was the son of the late Mark Herren Sr. and Clara Smith Herren. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Mark Jr. and Ronnie, his beloved in-laws, R Wayne Carter and Annie Lou Buckner Carter whom he loved like his own and our brother-in-law Bob Bentley(Dobby).

Terry was a 1966 graduate of Enka High School and a 1968 graduate of Blantons Business College. His 30-year career with Kmart took him and his family to many locations, leaving him with lasting friendships.

Terry had many talents and used them for his Lord. He served many years as RA Director, Youth Pastor, SS Teacher, Choir Director and Deacon at Edgewood Baptist Church. He sang with several gospel groups but his favorite was his own Herren Family.

He loved and cherished his family, always putting them first. Terry had the most loving, caring, and giving heart.

Left to cherish him is his loving wife Janet which he loved and adored for 56 years. His daughters, Heidi(Gary) and Holli. Grandchildren, Kylie, Seth, Andrew, Garrett, Brandon, and Brooke and their children. And, our special blessing, great granddaughter, Paisley Faith Ball, several aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Sonya Bentley and brother-in-law‘s Neil Carter(Lora) and Stan Carter(Rebecca). Memorials may be left to Care Partners Hospice.

“Da”, you were our hero and role model. We will miss your wonderful laugh and sweet smile. All of your good works on earth will never be forgotten.

A celebration of life will be held on November 19, 2022 at 2:00PM at the Edgewood Baptist Church, followed by a receiving of friends and family and a dessert bar at the reception hall.
