Taft Shuford Coward

Taft Shuford Coward, 88, of Candler, NC, passed away peacefully at his home on August 19, 2024.
Taft was born in Asheville, NC on May 25, 1936 to the late Taft Shuford Coward Sr. and Reva Hazel Gregg. In addition to his parents, Taft was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Coward, and his son, Michael Coward.  
Taft graduated from Candler High School. He later retired from Sears where he worked for 30 and a half years. Taft was a member of the Starnes Cove Baptist Church in Asheville and was a 32nd degree Mason at Hominy Lodge Number 491. 
Surviving Taft is his loving wife of 11 years, Audrey Coward and his son, Tracy Coward (Shirley) of Clyde, NC. 
A memorial service will be held on September 22nd, 2024 from 3pm-4pm at Starnes Cove Baptist Church with visitation starting at 2pm. Reverend Charlie Sams and Reverend William Moore will be officiating.
