Susan "Suzy" Jeanette (Hill) Gousby

Susan Jeanette (“Suzy”) Hill Gousby of Asheville, North Carolina, died May 12, 2025. Born November 15, 1958, to the late Theodore Roosevelt Hill and Joyce Ward in Asheville, she was sixty-six.

Susan graduated from Asheville High School, then went to Asheville Hair Design’s class of 1977. She was a stylist at Joe King Barber Shop from 2006 to 2021. Susan enjoyed gardening, thrifting, and being a granny.

In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by two sons, Landon Ledford and Grant Gousby.

She is survived by her son, Lucas Ledford, of Asheville; siblings, Richard Hipps of Memphis, Tennessee, Ted Hill II, of Southern Pines, North Carolina, and Samantha Mansfield and Scott Harris both of Washington, North Carolina; and grandchildren, Legend Van Grant and Lyla Jewel Ledford, both of Asheville.

A service will be held at noon on May 24, 2025, at Crossroads Church (20 South Bear Creek Road, Asheville). Pastor Michael Brown will officiate. Visitation will take place prior to the service, beginning at eleven o’clock.

Susan’s family extends special thanks to Crossroads Church, and Michael and Debbie Brown for providing a beautiful space to gather, to Marsha Lunsford and the nurses at Solace Center hospice for caring for Susan, and to family and friends for all of their support.
