Stephanie Lynn Carson of Asheville, NC passed away gently on Sunday April 19, 2026 at the age of 50. She was born in Asheville, NC on October 27th, 1975 and attended Enka High School. She worked as a UPS driver, a job that she loved, until she medically retired. She was preceded in death by her mother, Cynthia Evans Green, her father Dennis Randall Chandley; her sister Brandy Green Sprouse and brother-in-law Gary Sprouse. She is survived by her loving and caring wife, Melissa Carson, and their son, Nathaniel Carson, who were the loves of Stephanie's life; three aunts, Deborah "Debbie" Evans Barker (Don) of Hinton, W. Va, Sherry Evans of Waxhaw, NC.,
Ruth Threlkeld (Ed) of Clark, Missouri, Uncle Ronald "Ronnie" Chandley of Morristown, TN, a sister, Crystal Green Sweatt (Jeff) of Marion, NC., her nieces and nephews Gracie Sweatt and Danny Sweatt, Daellen Sprouse and Cyleigh Sprouse, in addition to her many cousins, god-children, and close friends.
Stephanie loved life and even while fighting multiple health battles she attempted to live it to its fullest every day. Stephanie had a passion for exotic animals, music, dancing, and her truck. Her greatest joy was being Nathaniel's mama. Stephanie had a huge heart that was full of love and determination, an infectious smile, laughter that would brighten any room, and a quick-witted sense of humor.
At Stephanie's early request, a celebration of life will be held at Lake Lure, NC on August 2nd. We will gather in her favorite area off the path to the pavillion, right on the cove, starting at 2pm. (Rain-alternative details at Lake Lure will be forthcoming.) Informal relaxed attire.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that you send brief memories or pictures to slcnmlc@gmail.com - They will be included in a unique memory book so her 10yo son will learn more happy, funny, and touching bits of her past as he grows up.
