Sandra Ann Smathers

CANDLER- Sandra Ann Smathers passed away, unexpectedly, on February 17, 2025. Sandra was born on January 8, 1948 to Homer and Hilda Smathers.

She is survived by her long-time partner Joe Chasteen, 2 brothers, George Smith (Judy) of Oak Ridge Tennessee and David Smathers (Kathy) of Candler, NC.

3 Children, Shelly Livingston (Don) of Maryland, Brett Smathers of Arden, NC and Michael Smathers (Tamela) of Candler, NC. 6 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Sandy worked many years for Buncombe County Schools at Enka High School. She loved spending time with her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

The family will hold a celebration of life to honor Sandy at a later date.
