Sally Wheeler

Sally Wheeler died on Wednesday, April 16 2025. Born in Boston she grew up in Los Gatos, CA and later moved to San Francisco.  She married Wayne Wheeler in 1976, moving to Asheville in 2004 with her husband of 48 years.

All who knew her enjoyed her positive, warm and engaging personality. She seldom said no to any request. Sally was a dedicated Master Gardener and belonged to two garden and three book clubs.

She leaves behind the loves of her life, husband Wayne and son Scott of Oakland, CA, cousin Betsy Warner of San Diego and niece Suzanne Garrett and daughter of Hickory, NC.

A beauty who cherished the call of nature, the song of birds and digging her hands into the soil to feel and experience mother earth.

She will be solely missed by friends far and wide as well as her many good friends of Asheville.

Stained glass windows

Of posies, every hue.

On bended knee

She exorcises natures mistakes

And kneads the soil

To cultivate her soul

And grow her mind.
