Sally Anne Fenstermacher, 74, of Etowah, NC, passed away unexpectantly on Monday, June 24, 2024 at her home. Born October 8, 1949 in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Harry Eugene Fenstermacher and Kathryn Brecht Fenstermacher. She graduated high school in 1967 and joined the Peace Corps. This was the beginning of a long and Fascinating career with the U.S. State Department. Sally traveled the globe with her prestigious career and lived on four different continents. Sally touched the lives of thousands and enriched mankind beyond measure. She embraced every culture and country that she traveled. After returning to the U.S. she settled in Houston, TX and later relocated to North Carolina. She was a bright light in this world and gave unselfishly to all she encountered. Fondly she will be remembered for these positive contributions to mankind. Sally had a passion for the arts and a very special place in her heart for animals as she supported numerous animal charities and her legacy reflects this. She is survived by her brother, Richard, and her sister, Linda, along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She leaves behind many dear friends that will miss her profoundly. A private service is planned for a later date. In her memory, donations may be made to your favorite animal charity.
