Russell was born September 29, 1960 in Buncombe Co., NC. He is preceded in death by his father, Fred Sawyer; mother, Lucille Rice Sawyer; and brother, David Sawyer.
Surviving Russell is his daughter, Taylor Sawyer; son, Shane Zachary; partner, Phillis Bowers; brothers, John, Robert, Steve (Angie); sister, Sue Scarborough (David); and grandson, Mathew Edwards.
