Obituary

Ronald David Bradley, 75, of Swannanoa passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville. Born May 29, 1947 in Marion, NC, he was a son of the late Claude and Ora Bradley. He attended A-B Technical College where he received his ASE Certificate in Auto Mechanics. During the Vietnam War, he proudly served in the U.S. Army. In 1994, he retired from the Charles George VA Medical Center after 25 years of service, after which he worked at the Ingle’s Distribution Center for 12 years. He was a member Swannanoa Free Will Baptist Church in Swannanoa. Of his many enjoyments in life, some of most enjoyable were playing basketball and watching the Tarheels play basketball, running around Charles D. Owen Park, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Surviving is his wife of 51 years, Linda S. Bradley; children, Kimberly DeLeon and her spouse, Pedro, of Alabama, Michelle Eades of Swannanoa, NC, and Ryan Bradley and his spouse, Charity, of Marion, NC; siblings, Jack Bradley of Dysartsville, NC, and Michael Bradley of Fairview, NC; grandchildren, Adrian Bradley and his spouse, Bethany, of Louisville, KY, Mason Eades and his spouse, Olivia, of Black Mountain, NC, and Richelle Davidson and her spouse, Darrius, of Madison County, NC; and great-grandchildren, Mia, Dawson, McKenna, Alina, Ozzy, and one on the way. A funeral will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Swannanoa Free Will Baptist Church with the family receiving friends an hour prior. Rev. Bobby Shehan and Rev. Jack Ward officiating. Burial will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the Western Carolina State Veteran Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC. The family would like to express their gratitude to the medical staff of the ICU and the Office of Descendent Affairs for returning the excellent care to Mr. Bradley of which he once provided those that he cared for.
