With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Roger Bruce Foster Sr., age 63, of Candler, who entered into eternal rest on May 16, 2026. Roger was born on May 8, 1963, and spent his life building not only a successful business and home, but a legacy of love, hard work, and unforgettable memories.
Roger was the proud owner and operator of Foster Mobile Home Service for nearly 40 years. Known by many as a true “Jack of all trades,” there was very little he couldn’t fix or figure out. He took pride in working with his hands and helping others whenever he could.
Outside of work, Roger loved the simple things in life. He could often be found fishing and chasing after the legendary “Big Sid,” tending to his garden, or enjoying the fresh vegetables he worked so hard to grow. He had a special love for animals and a heart big enough to care for every stray or creature that crossed his path. Roger proudly called himself an “Ole Hillbilly,” and those who knew him best loved him for exactly who he was — genuine, hardworking, stubborn at times, and full of heart.
Roger leaves behind his loving children, Bruce, Kevin, Missy, and Angela Foster; his cherished grandchildren, Abby, Nick, Kameron, Haden, Sadie, Michelle and Khole; and his precious great-grandchildren, Arie and Ellie; and his many extended grandchildren. He is also survived by his favorite beloved sister Debbie and her husband Claude Calloway; his brother Randy; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.
He is now reunited in Heaven with his beloved brother Mike, his dearly loved nephew Devin, and his beloved “Rachel Nelly.”
Roger will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on through the stories shared, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Brother Wolf Animal Rescue; 23 Heritage Drive, Asheville, NC 28806.
