On October 31st, our dear Robyn passed from this earth after a long illness at Elderberry Health Care in Marshall, NC. Robyn was beautiful, ambitious, hilarious, sharp and a fashionista. She was a sister, an aunt, a spouse, a news anchorwoman and reporter and a lover of the finer things in life. Robyn grew up in Rochester, NY but spent most of her professional life in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, LA. She worked in the media covering major news events, winning an Emmy Award for her coverage of Hurricane Katrina.
She was loved by many and will be terribly missed. The world is a bit less glamorous and fun with her passing. Robyn is survived by her husband, Gregory Gambel, siblings Doug Ekings, Leslie Ekings (Jim Kinney), David Ekings (Mitsuko Uehara), Robert Ekings (Isabella Wagner), and her nephew and niece, Aidan Kinney (Kelsey Kinney) and Alexandra Kinney. She is predeceased by her parents, J. Douglas and Priscilla W. Ekings and her beloved fur babies: Spud, Hammer, Popeye and Thurston.
There will be a private service held in New Orleans.
Donations may be made in Robyn's memory to Chihuahua-rescue.com.
