Robert French Moore

Robert French Moore, 93, of Asheville, NC passed away April 21, 2023 at home after a short illness. Robert was born in Washington, DC to the late Julian Alison Moore M.D. and Imogene Bellamy Moore. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Deitz Moore. Robert proudly served our country in the US Navy. He owned Hi Fidelity Sales and then worked as a state employee for 20 years. Robert was active in tennis, golf, soccer, skiing, and trout fishing. He was a lifelong member of the Biltmore Forest Country Club. Robert formed the WNC Soccer Association and the WNC chapter of the NISOA, later becoming a referee assessor for the ACC receiving an award for his contributions to the sport. Surviving Robert is his daughter, Catherine Moore Lawhon (Ken) of Florence, SC; son, Julian Alison Moore II (Carol) of Black Mountain, NC; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life was held Monday at Trinity Church. A private service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Trinity Church.
