Robert Ernest Jackson of Swannanoa, North Carolina, died March 6, 2025. Born January 5, 1940, to the late Robert Jackson and Ruth Elizabeth Jackson in Natick, Massachusetts, he was eighty-five.
Bob graduated from Natick High School in Natick, Massachusetts and Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. Bob’s career in the corrugated packaging industry took him all over New England where he was known to sneak in a few rounds of golf whilst “working”. Bob was also part of an extensive ski community in Franconia, New Hampshire and spent many winters skiing Cannon Mt. Franconia was a special place, as Bob met the love of his life Carole at the Horse and Hound Inn after a day on the slopes. Bob and Carole were married for 56 years, many of which were spent on the slopes at Cannon Mt.
Bob is survived by his wife, Carole A. (Zdonczyk) Jackson; children, Mary and Bobby (Natali) Jackson; grandchildren, Isabella and Porter; sisters-in-law, Dawn Jackson and Helen J. Winter. Bob is preceded in death by his brother, Peter Jackson in 2007.
Bob, affectionately known as “Grumpy Grampy” loved spending time with his grandchildren pranking them and spoiling them frequently. Bob left a lasting impression on all of his wonderful caretakers at Givens Highland Farms Skilled Nursing and Mountain Care Adult Daycare. Donations in memory of Bob may be sent to Mountain Care Services, 105 King Creek Boulevard, Hendersonville, North Carolina 28792.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
