Robert Calvin Davis

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Calvin Davis (Calvin), age 59, on May 6, 2024. A native of Asheville, NC, Calvin was a cherished father, friend, and son. He was preceded in death by his parents Wayne Emerson Davis and Velma Faye (Goforth) Davis.

Known for his kindness, generosity, and quiet spirit, Calvin touched the lives of many and dedicated multiple years to serving his community as a deputy for the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department. He then committed the last 20+ years working abroad as an instructor and program manager in various countries to share his knowledge and passion for law enforcement.

He is survived by his beloved children – Nicole and Marty (husband), Zachary and Taylor (wife), Mackenzie, and Baylee – and Tricia, to whom he was married for almost 30 years. Calvin’s unwavering dedication to his work and his enduring love and pride for his family will be remembered fondly. Calvin will be deeply missed and will be forever in our hearts.

A celebration of life will be held with close family and friends on Saturday,  June 1 from 2-4 pm at Asheville Area Alternative Funeral and Cremation Services (702 Riverside Drive, Asheville, NC 28801).
