Peter Harris Fayssoux

Peter Harris Fayssoux, 76, of Asheville passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. He was born on June 11, 1946 to the late Harry B. Fayssoux and Barbara Bielinski Fayssoux. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Peter Fayssoux Jr. Peter attended Asheville Catholic School and proudly served in the U.S. Army. After his time in the military, he operated his own residential housecleaning business. Peter provided a strong, structured foundation for his family. He had a knack for remembering important dates and birthdays. He was known for his good sense of humor, quick wit, and his vast knowledge of history and geography. He was a passionate Carolina Tarheels fan. He enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening, and music. Peter will best be remembered for the adoration and devotion he had for the love of his life, Kathy, to whom he was married for 44 years. They were inseparable in life, and neither could they be separated by death. Peter is survived by his daughter, Tracy Bodoh (Greg) of Clemmons, NC; his son, Kent Ponder of Fairview, NC; his daughter, Kristin Sampson (Greg) of Canton, NC; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his sisters, Jenny Saunders, Barbara Carter, Trish McMahan (Wayne), Teresa DeLizza, and Yvonne Wilde, all of Asheville, NC; his brothers, Marc Fayssoux (Vicki) of Ellenboro, NC and Thomas Fayssoux of Asheville, NC; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. A joint memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, November 12, 2022 in the chapel of Asheville Area Alternative Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Brenda Lewis officiating.
