Known as "The BBQ Man"

September 1, 1938 - August 14, 2019

Paul Roland Cogdill, 81, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Memorial Mission Hospital.

Paul was a graduate of Enka High School, a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Norfolk Southern Railway where he was known as Sug. Following retirement he became owner and operator of On the Spot Cookin’ catering special events which led him to be known as the BBQ Man. He was a member of Grassy Branch Baptist Church. 

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and six brothers.

Surviving are his spouse, two children, four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Grassy Branch Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Chris Reese.  The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00—3:00 p.m. prior to the service.   Internment will follow at Ashelawn Cemetery.
