Patrick Hugh Collins

Patrick Hugh Collins, born September 5, 1940, in St. Louis, MO, died peacefully at home on February 14, 2026, surrounded by family. He grew up in Gouverneur, NY, graduated from Colgate University (1964) and Duke Law (1967). Pat met his wife Theresa, in Syracuse NY. Together, they raised four children in Ogdensburg, NY. An avid sports fan, he never missed his kid’s sporting events, was a diehard Duke basketball and St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. He was an accomplished golfer and a Gold Life Master in the American Contract Bridge League. Pat was a prolific reader and a stickler for correct grammar. He was a connoisseur of ice cream. Green was his favorite color, the more shades worn all together, the better.

Preceded in death by his sister Lois Scharoun, mother Virginia, and father Patrick. He is survived by Theresa, his wife of 58 years, daughters Ellen Collins of Harwich, MA, Susan Hanlon (Tim) of Asheville, NC, Tracy Nowviskie (Andrew) of Waxhaw, NC and son Drew Collins of Hendersonville, NC. Grandchildren Logan, Joe, Ginger, Amelia and great grandchildren Phoenix and Jinx. Along with several nieces and nephews.
