Patricia Gail "Patty" Smith Queen

Patricia Gail "Patty" Smith Queen, 89, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025 in Asheville, NC.

Born on April 5, 1936, in Cottageville, South Carolina, Patty was known for her generous spirit, warm heart, and love for life's simple pleasures. She found joy in cooking for those she loved, basking in the sun at Edisto Beach with her family, indulging in the timeless music of Elvis Presley and the classic charm of John Wayne. Patty also had a lifelong admiration for horses and a knack for making everyone feel at home in her presence.

She was employed for many years at Skyland Automotive, where everyone treated her as family and looked forward to her cooking.

Patty was proceeded in death by her parents Mendel Lockwood Smith & Marjorie Eleanor Perry Smith. Brothers Jack,Mendel and Rhett Smith, Sister Carey Justice.

Patty is survived by her son, Bobby "Biff" Barrier of Fountain Inn SC; her daughter, Carey "Bari" Ball (Dale) of Woodfin NC ; her grandchildren, Ashley Rivers (Matt) of Hampton, SC, Ali Miller (Kyle) of Candler, NC, and Casey Barrier of Nashville, TN; and her great-grandchildren, Hailey, Trevor, Grace, Logan, Ethan, and Abel - all of whom brought her joy.

Her legacy of love, laughter, and strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her.

A private family gathering will be held to honor her life.
