Patricia Harvey

Pat Harvey, 92, of Asheville NC passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026 at the Riverbend Nursing Home. Born on July 8, 1934 in Orford, England, she was the daughter of the late Theo Harvey and Hilda Goddard. She married Bill Fleming in 1957, moved to the United States and had her beloved daughter Kate in 1959. After graduating from Radcliffe College and the University of Rochester with her PHD in Anthropology, she built a career as a tenured professor at UMass/Boston. Pat loved her family, the mystery of life, friends, travel, her garden, writing poetry and dancing. She overcame many obstacles to live a life of freedom and generosity that benefitted many. She will be remembered with joy and gratitude by her brother Robert, her daughter Kate, son-in-law Jim and all the many who loved her.
