Obituary

Oscar Hendrix, Jr., 83, of Candler passed away on Wednesday, July 19,2023 at the Charles George VA Medical Center under Valor Care Hospice Unit in Asheville. He was born September 19, 1937 and was a long time resident of Buncombe County after serving in the U.S. Navy. Surviving are his niece, Stepfani Hendrix; nephew, Lee Hendrix; cousins, Garner (Crum) Crisp, Cory Crisp, Judy Guy; 2 great nephews; 3 great nieces; and a great-great niece. Preceding him in death was his mother, Virginia C. Hendrix; father, Oscar Hendrix, Sr.; brother, Wilbur Lee Hendrix; sister-in-law, Brenda Hendrix; sister, Myrna Hendrix; son, Kevin Hendrix; and nephew, Jordan Hendrix. No formal services will be held at this time. He will be missed by many, but never forgotten.
