Nancy Thames (Lalley) Lippard

Nancy Thames Lippard Lalley, 94, died on July 17, 2021 in Asheville, NC. She was the daughter of the late George and Ruth Lippard of Hot Springs, NC and the wife of the late Joseph Lalley, Jr. of Asheville. A dedicated educator, Mrs. Lalley graduated from Tusculum College, taught at Hot Springs School and Lee Edwards High School. After receiving a Master of Arts from UNC- Chapel Hill, she taught in the Fairfax County, Virginia school system. Mrs. Lalley was a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Mrs. Lalley was predeceased by two sisters, Margaret (Arthur) Morris and Ruth (Charles) Smith and a brother, George Lippard, Jr. She is survived by a sister, Dr. Sara (William) Hoyt, three stepchildren, Joseph (Deborah) Lalley III, Robert Lalley, and Anne (Joe Ebel) Lalley, and 6 nieces. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
