Nancy Elliott Dill, 89, of Asheville, NC passed away on September 6, 2024 at Deerfield Episcopal Community.
Nancy was born on March 7, 1935 in Swickley, PA to the late Frederick Hayes Dill and Caroline Rankin Dill. She is also preceded in death by her brothers Richard and Robert Dill.
Nancy previously resided in Markle, PA, Orlando, FL, and Hendersonville, NC, before taking up residence in Asheville, NC for the past 14 years. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Music at Seton Hill College and her master’s degree in Music at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She was later employed as a music teacher, legal secretary, and homemaker. Nancy was a lifelong musician (flutist) who played extensively with local orchestras and ensembles. She was affiliated with St. Giles Chapel in Asheville, NC. Nancy lived a long and productive life enriched by her faith, music, friends and family. She cherished the times she could spend on the lake in Maine and loved visits by animal pets.
Surviving Nancy are her sons, Edward Maurer (Joann) of Garrettsville, OH and Charles Maurer (Judy) of Bluemont, VA; sister, Carol Kruse; brothers, William and Frederick (Rick) Dill; granddaughter, Amanda Maurer Dinaro (John) of St. Petersburg, FL; grandsons, Kenneth Maurer (Jessica) of Mantua, OH, Michael Maurer (Amanda) of Wilmington, NC, and M.J. Maurer (Candi) of Charleston, SC; and 6 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on October 3, 2024 at St. Giles Chapel at Deerfield Retirement Community. Officiating are Reverend Lynn Walton and Reverend Betsy Baumgarten. Nancy will be laid to rest at St. Giles Chapel Memory Garden.
