ASHEVILLE – Michael Christopher (Chris) Davis, 52, of Asheville, NC, passed away, August 5, 2021 in the home. Chris was born August 8, 1968 in High Point North Carolina. He graduated from the University Of North Carolina at Wilmington with a degree in Sociology. Chris worked as a DSS Social Worker for both Buncombe and Henderson County in NC. He was a member of Land of Sky Church in Asheville, North Carolina. Chris enjoyed being active. His favorite ways to move included mountain biking and road biking, BMX racing, motorcycle rides, creating trails, working in the yard, snowboarding, and dancing. Music played an important role in his life and he enjoyed sharing his favorite songs with family and friends. He was a devoted father and a committed advocate for the children he served in his professional life. The lives of many people were made better because of Chris. Surviving is his wife, Brooks Thomas Davis; children, Mia “M” Davis of Asheville, NC, Henry “Gray” Davis of Asheville NC; father, Donald Ray Davis of High Point, NC; mother, Betty Jean Hood of Thomasville, NC; brothers, Anthony Ray Davis (Jeanie) of Lexington NC, Eric Scott Davis of Lexington NC; nieces, Michele Alston (Joe) of Lexington NC, Megan Culpepper (Chris) of Lexington NC; and special uncle, James Hood (Elizabeth) of Thomasville, NC. A memorial service will be held at a later date in High Point NC. Donations can be made in Chris’s name to JDRF.org (Juvenile Diabetes Fund).
