Melvin James Russell

Melvin James Russell, age 59, of Swannanoa, NC passed away on January 1, 2025 at his residence. Melvin was born on March 11, 1965 in Asheville, NC to the late William J. Russell and Ruby L. Massy Russell. Melvin was a graduate of Charles D. Owen High School. He worked in manufacturing.

Melvin is preceded in death by his siblings, Faye and Douglas. He is survived by his son, Melvin James Jr., of Black Mountain, NC, and his siblings, Dexter Russell, of Marion, NC, Randy Russell, of Kintston, NC, Buddy Russell, of Asheville, NC, Brint Russell, of Nebo, NC, Mechalle, of South Carolina, and Billy Russell, of Black Mountain, NC.

Melvin passed peacefully in his sleep. Melvin Jr. loved his dad more than words can say and always will. Rest in peace. You will never be alone again.
