Mearle Lee Allen

Mearle Lee Allen, 76, passed away peacefully at his childhood home surrounded by family on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.

He was born in Swannanoa on August 30, 1947 to the late John E. Allen and Donnie Fairchild Allen.

He is also preceded in death by his brother, Denver Allen, and sister, Shelby Allen Hawkins. Surviving Mearle is his son, Blake Allen(Marcy) of SC; daughters, Crystle Allen Hyatt(Chad) and Kerry Allen, both of NC; sister, Shirley Allen Taylor(Joe) of KY; brothers, Emory Allen(Linda) of TN and Gerald Allen(Brenda) of NC; grandchildren, Tiffany and Savannah Allen of SC, Silver and Case Hyatt of NC, and Makaela Allen of NC.

Mearle was a loving brother, father, grandfather, and friend. He worked hard all of his life to take care of his family. He served in the United States Army. He retired from Ball Brothers after many years of service. His family knew he would help them with anything at any time. He was a wonderful role model that showed kindness to others. He had a great sense of humor that he continued to use throughout his whole life to bring joy to his family.
