Mary Elizabeth Heatherly Jones

Mary Elizabeth Heatherly Jones, 83, of Asheville, NC, passed away August 7, 2024 at her home.

Mary was born February 14, 1941 to the late, Henry Grady Heatherly and Vernia Hester Babb Heatherly. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, James Michael Jones; brothers, Clifton Elmer Heatherly, Lloyd Burnitt Heatherly, Henry Leroy Heatherly, Marion Clinton “Pete” Heatherly, James Grady Heatherly Sr., Joseph Alexander Heatherly, Aldon Monroe Heatherly, Gene Ripley Heatherly; sisters, Sarah Heatherly Clouse Dore, and Vernia Heatherly Hill.

Throughout her life, Mary had many employment ventures including owner of Cabin Hair Studio. She was a sweet and pure soul who gave her love, time, and care to all of her family unconditionally. Those who were privileged enough to know Mary and be loved by her will never forget all of the conversations they had and lessons she taught.

Surviving Mary are her daughters, Brenda Inman (Bill), Sandra Jones (Rick Jacquot), Sarah Ayres, Linda Metcalf (Jackie); sister, Catherine Heatherly Schroader (Leonard), granddaughter, Gretchen Ellenberg; grandsons, John William Inman Jr. (Alik), Donald Ayres, Michael Ayers, Joey Metcalf, Stefan Metcalf; great grandsons, Ripleigh Inman, Emmett Inman; and too many nieces and nephews to name, but everyone loved just as deeply.

The family will have a gathering to celebrate Mary’s life at a later date.
