Marianne (Muehlbauer) Burris

Marianne Muehlbauer Burris, 80, of Canton passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2020 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC. Born March 12, 1940 in Straubing, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Maxamillion and Maria Muehlbauer. She retired from Goody’s Family Clothing in Waynesville after several years of service. One of her favorite pastimes was knitting and crocheting and then donating the finished products to either Haywood Regional Medical Center’s Neonatal Unit or to W.N.C. Cancer Center. Kindness for others was at the root of everything that she did. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Erich Brunner. Surviving are her children, Erich Burris and his spouse, Jackie, of Waynesville, and Marsha Brown and her spouse, David, of Hampton, VA; and siblings, Therese Altmann and Maxamillion Muehlbauer both of Germany. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The American Cancer Society or Mountain Projects of Haywood County.
