Marcia Elaine Moore Houchard, 77, of Burnsville, NC, passed away June 14, 2020 at the John F Keever Solace Center in Asheville, NC.
Marcia was born December 27, 1942 in Hartford, CT to the late William Isaac Moore and Elisabeth Northam Moore. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Nicholas Houchard, and granddaughter, Ruby Houchard.
Marcia was an artist, homemaker, substitute teacher, Sunday school teacher, and volunteer extraordinaire. She enjoyed flowers, birds, gardening, watercolor painting, basket weaving, china painting, dogs, knitting, quilting, and making everyone feel loved and welcomed.
Surviving Marcia are her sons, Morgen Houchard and spouse Tamara of Belmont, NC; Khristian Houchard and spouse Holly of Burnsville, NC; daughter Kedren Cooper and spouse Shannon of Burnsville, NC; daughters of the Heart, Pam Carberry of Michigan and Meaghan Williams of South Carolina; brother, Robert Moore and spouse Marlene of Clearwater, FL; grandchildren, Reagan Houchard, Sammy Houchard, Max Houchard and Easton Cooper, all of Burnsville, NC, Josefina Houchard of Belmont, NC, David Kerlin and spouse Brittney King of Greenville, SC, Taylor Kerlin and finance Christen Thomas of Huntsville, AL, Stewart Kerlin and spouse Ashley Kerlin and daughter Ava Kerlin, all of Raleigh, NC.
A Celebration of Life Service for both Marcia and her husband, Nick Houchard, will be held in the fall.

Tremendous thanks to the entire community who have supported the family through her long illness and need for care. She so loved both her Florida and North Carolina friends, and taking care of others was her gift that she gave with joy and gladness. Her three biggest loves were Jesus, family, and beauty of all kinds.
