On March 19, 2025, Loretta Carver McDonald let go the hand of her granddaughter Sarah to take hold the hand of Jesus. Born to the late Rellie and Charlie Carver November 22, 1950, she was seventy-four.
Throughout her life she was a caregiver to many family and friends. Loretta had the biggest heart full of love, kindness and compassion. And an unwavering faith in Jesus. She enjoyed sharing the word of God to all those around her especially her grandchildren. Loretta became a member of Peeks Chapel Baptist Church in September of 1980. Her arms were always open for a warm hug, ears to listen and doors open for a place to stay. She was a lifelong resident of Marshall, North Carolina.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Elazene Carver; daughter, Joni Lynn Sharp; and great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Laurel Buckner.
She is survived by her daughter, Bobbie Jean Malone and spouse Deano; siblings, William Hanibal Carver, Walter Otis Carver, Betty Meadows and spouse Jerry, and Wanda Gasperson and spouse Glenn; grandchildren, Sarah Buckner and spouse Darren, Jacqueline Moody and spouse Kaz, Skylar Sharp and spouse Jacob, James Sharp, Tiffany Renee Pegg and spouse Ralph, and Jennifer Dawn Davis; and great-grandchildren, Blake, Riley, Ronnie, Mia-eve Marie and Zander.
