Linda Kay (Bishop) Effler

Linda Kay Effler, 76, of Candler, NC passed away Monday, December 29, 2025 at the Solace Center in Asheville, NC. Born September 17, 1949 in Asheville, NC, she was a daughter of the late Euel Oley Bishop and Nellie Mae Bishop. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and making them smile. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her children, Norma Diane Effler, Johnny Lamar Guess, and Samuel Edward Effler. Surviving are her son, Larry Ray Bishop and his spouse, Tonya, of Asheville, NC; siblings, Mary Sue Jones of Black Mountain, NC, Dorothy Jean Cogdall of Asheville, NC, Betty Jo Cannon and her spouse, John, of Marion, NC, Robert Wayne Bishop and his spouse, Susie, of Asheville, NC, Alice Gail Webb of Old Fort, NC, and Marvin Randall Bishop of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Amber Effler of Candler, NC, David Effler of Candler, NC, Dillon Williamson and his spouse, Kaitlin, of Fletcher, NC, Natalie Wright of Marion, NC, Taylor Wright of Marion, NC, and Samantha Effler of Marion, NC; and great-grandchildren, Ayva Lewis, Leelan Williamson, and Caleb Shell.
