Lewis Bryant McElreath

Lewis Bryant McElreath, Jr. went to be with the Lord on November 11, 2022 at the age of 73. Our family was not prepared to say goodbye so soon. We are heartbroken to lose such a special and wonderful husband, father, and friend. He leaves his wife, Luck, of 52 years, his daughter Samantha Powell, and her husband Eric. His son, Paul McElreath and his wife, Kristen. His grandchildren, Katelyn Shiring McElreath, and Matthew, Jackson, Timothy, and Benjamin Powell.

He was born and raised in Asheville where he attended Enka High School. He then served our country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, where he met his beautiful bride. After returning and earning his Bachelor’s degree in Business from UNC-Asheville, he ultimately joined his wife in owning and operating The Flower Gallery for the past 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, Nascar, annual vacations with the family to the beach and beating his grandkids in any game.

Words cannot express how much we will miss him. We will be honoring him with a memorial service on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 3 PM at First Presbyterian Church of Weaverville, 30 N. Alabama Avenue, Weaverville, NC, 28787. Visitation begins at 1:30 pm until the service at 3:00 pm. Following the service, the family invites you to gather with them at The Flower Gallery, 1 Sunny Ridge Dr., Asheville, NC 28804.
