Leslie "Rivers" Anne Sterling

Rivers, born officially as Leslie Anne Sterling, June 5, 1953, passed September 2, 2025, leaving a wake of love and light. She is survived by her siblings, her students, and the many lives she touched who call her family.  Her final home was Hendersonville, North Carolina but her travels worldwide created many homes.

The overriding comment regarding Rivers is “She changed my life forever”. Rivers lived authentically, from a place of love and a deep connection to the energy of the earth and universe. Rivers was an accomplished musician, brilliant scholar, teacher, healer and activist. She dedicated her life to healing and the mysteries of our energetic universe.  She embodied and lived her teachings, created modern mystery schools and community every place she tracked.

Some of her life experiences include valedictorian from Sonoma State, a masters degree in acupuncture, studies with some of the great minds in sacred geometry and the mysteries of our universe, faculty member of AOMA in Austin, TX.  Additionally, Rivers created the acupuncture satellite clinic at Kerrville Folk Music Festival, maintained a busy private practice, created many writings and recordings, and was devoted to her canine companions. Whatever Rivers did, she did it fully and exceptionally. She lived life on her terms with joy and love.

Her name, Rivers, was gifted to her by the stone people during her time as a white water river guide. Those who have been in her presence have been profoundly touched by her genius and magic. As we live our lives and spread her energy, we all become tributaries as we give tribute to this incredible life lived, the fullest expression of her name, we say, Rivers Many Rivers.
