Kimberly Rene Lewis passed away peacefully on April 24, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on October 6, 1962, she was the twelfth child of fourteen born to Martha Edwards Lewis and Arthur Lewis and a native of Yancey County. She was the mother of Natasha "Tasha" Bowden and Ryan Bowden, and step-son Jared Crain. Grandmother to Jarica & Julie Crain.
Kimberly is survived by sisters: Jeanette, Patsy, Shelby, June, Johnnie, Carol, Remona, and her brother Jack, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Kim was preceded in death by brothers: Carnel, David, Eddie, and Jeff, an infant sister, and nephews Caleb, Scotty, Kade, and niece Kurstin.
From an early age, Kim embraced adventure with a zest for life. She was a wanderer, which affectionately earned her the nickname "Alice". She loved music and gardening. Kim enjoyed gatherings with her family and friends. She worked tying reinforcing steel on many roadways & buildings across NC & beyond. Her loved ones will always remember her as beautiful, kind, funny, and generous. She was a damn good cook and could throw a mean right hook!
Kim will be deeply missed but never forgotten, her legacy of love and laughter echoing through the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace, forever cherished and remembered.
Kim’s memorial service & celebration of life will be held at a later date TBA
