Kileen Marie “Ki” Walp, age 63, of Asheville, NC passed away in the early morning on July 24, 2024 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. Kileen was born in San Francisco, traveled around the world, served in the US Air Force, and settled in Asheville, NC in her later years, to live the life her loved ones had hoped for her for so long. She was an avid music trivia lover and had a heart and soul for rock and roll. She was a loving mother, master card player, queen of Yahtzee, lover of all things tie-dye, and a mother figure and mentor to many. Kileen was a pillar in the AA community and dedicated her final years to her personal and spiritual growth, as well as reaching out to try to be a support for others.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chris Walp, grandmother Jennie Palmer, and her bonus parents Wade and Eileen Kirk.
Surviving Kileen is her daughter, Jennie Tack (Michael) of Hampton, VA; son, Milo Walp of Asheville, NC; mother, Sandra Palmer Pollock; sisters, Tracy Peters (Dave) of Jacksonville, OR, Cheryl Neideffer (Don) of Willts, CA, Leigh-Ann Seidentopf (Les) do Sebastopol, CA; brothers Andy Pollock of Santa Rosa, CA and Jason Pollock (Shelly) of Jacksonville, OR.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Kileens ashes will be returned to the earth in San Francisco Bay.
