Karen Diane Thompson, 59, of Hendersonville, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Mission Hospital on December 21, after a brief illness.
Karen was born in Hendersonville on September 18, 1962, to the late Hoyt and Virginia Thompson.
She is survived by her sister Susie Brown (Kenny), brother Charles Thompson (Dale), sister Kim McCoy (Joe), niece Shelby Lands (Chance), nephews Justin Robinson, Gage and Drew Thompson, great nephews Logan, Laken and Locklin Lands, great niece Linley Lands, and her dear friend Rosie Coates.
Karen was a graduate of Hendersonville High School. She also attended Blue Ridge Community College.
Karen worked in the manufacturing industry for most of her life and currently she was employed by Eaton Corporation.
She was always proud of helping Manna Food Banks Loving Food Resources for Hospice patients.
Karen loved visiting the beach, especially Folly Beach and the view of any beach from a cruise ship. She also enjoyed lake Keowee and riding the jet ski with Rosie. Karen loved traveling anywhere with her family and friends.
Karen was one of the kindest and most thoughtful people. She also had a great sense of humor and laid-back personality. She is forever loved and always will be in our hearts.
A Celebration of Life Service will be announced soon.
