June Montgomery Ruff

June Montgomery Ruff, born April 29, 1933 and raised in Asheville, NC, was called home to glory Tuesday, July 18, 2023 while surrounded in the comfort and love of family. June is preceded in death by her loving husband, Stanley Ruff; parents, Elzie and Carrie McCurry; two sons, Harry McCurry and Robert Anderson. She is survived by her son, Harold McCurry; daughters, Mary Montgomery, Denise M Pulley (Marvin), Loretta Montgomery, Junea Bristol; great grandson, Nolan Peterson; and a host of cousins. June graduated from Allen High School and she worked as a surgical scrub nurse for 30 years at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was a beautiful individual, not just in appearance but in heart and soul. She was an amazing mother that not only touched our family but everyone she came in contact with throughout her life. Her smile, encouragement, and loving disposition were radiant. She loved her family and her children dearly. June loved her church congregation (Jehovah’s Witness – South and North). She was a devout auxiliary pioneer for many years, reaching out and telling individuals about God. She loved going to her assemblies to fellowship with her brothers and sisters in Christ. June loved traveling, especially to the beach, and loved music and dancing. Her morning greeting was “What’s up? What’s down? What’s all around?”. We truly love our mom and will miss her dearly. A memorial service will be held at Jehovah’s Witness South Congregation later in August with time and date to be announced.
