Juliana Cooper-Goldenberg, age 69, a longtime resident of Asheville, NC, died on April 20, 2025, at Mission Hospital. Born on April 26, 1955, in Asheville, Juliana loved her hometown and its people, and a large portion of her life was dedicated to the people of Western North Carolina. She worked in tandem with many area charities as a member of both All Souls Cathedral and Grace Episcopal Church.
Juliana dedicated many years of her life to the healthcare industry, educating anyone who would listen on the realities of aging. She especially loved her years teaching as a professor at Mars Hill College in the School of Social Work.
Juliana loved being surrounded by family, crafting, skiing, taking care of horses, reading, and, of course, yelling at the TV in support of her beloved Georgia Bulldogs.
Juliana is survived by her husband, Larry Goldenberg; their two children, Jonathan and Jennie; as well as her son-in-law, Sebastian Doty; and her brother, F. Selden Cooper, known affectionately as “Uncle Butch.” A memorial service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church on May 3rd at 3 pm.
