Judith Reyes

Judith Reyes, 66, of Asheville passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 9, 2021. Born June 12, 1954 in Guanica, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of the late Frank Schmidt and Elsie Leon. She was a devout Jehovah’s Witness. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Mimilsa Cardona, and step-father, Indalecio Cortes. Surviving is her loving husband of 49 years, Pedro Reyes; her children, Jessie Whitaker and her spouse, Matthew, of Marion, NC, and Peter Reyes and his spouse, Marisela, of Canton, NC; sisters, Lisa Encarnacion and her spouse, Billy, of Salisbury, MD, and Patricia Tucker and her spouse, Bob, of Winter Haven, FL; grandchildren, Jeremias and Luann Reyes both of Canton, NC; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, May 22, 2021 via Zoom. For more service details please reach out to any family member.
