Joyce Brown Ingle, 82—beloved wife, mother and grandmother, went home to the Lord on June 24, 2022.
She attended Enka High School and Beaverdam Freewill Baptist Church, and was the owner of Express Alterations for 18 years. Joyce enjoyed working in her flower gardens, putting together a challenging puzzle, crocheting, but most of all she enjoyed being a mother and grandmother.
Joyce is survived by her husband of 66 years, Kenneth Phillip Ingle, and her six children, Anita Gail Lynd (Adda), Theresa Ann Strickland (Keith), Katherine Lynn Harley, Jamie Jean Calzada (Ernesto), Kendall Lee Hollifield (Rocky) and Kenneth Phillip Ingle II (Julie). She is also survived by her brother, Richard Brown (Carol), 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Buena Vista Carver and Gerthie Brown, as well as siblings, Judith Allen and Frank Brown. Also preceding, were a grandchild, Charles Troy Turner; great-grandchild, David Grace Carver, and son-in-law, James Harley.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 29 at Beaverdam Freewill Baptist Church, located at 80 Wise Rd. in Candler, North Carolina at 12 p.m. A celebration of life and burial will follow at 1 p.m. After services, guests are invited to continue honoring Joyce’s life at the Ingle residence.
