Joseph Curtis Grace, 71, of Sylva, NC passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 13, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Kathy; daughters Katie (Jesse) Miller and Sarah Grace; grandchildren Jackson & Emily Miller; sisters Joyce (Bart) Slatton and Artie (John) Almeida. Curtis was born in Great Lakes, IL but called Orlando, FL his home most of his life. In 2018, after 22 years of loyal service, Curtis retired as a Finance Administrator for the City of Altamonte Springs and moved to Sylva, NC. He was a graduate of Boone High School class of 1971, a graduate of and ardent sports fan of UCF, a member of Florida Professional Officials, and an active softball umpire for 25 years. He was a man of faith who attended both First Presbyterian Church of Orlando and Sylva. Services will be held at 5pm, Saturday, December 21, 2024 at First Presbyterian Church in Sylva at 46 Presbyterian Dr, Sylva, NC 28779. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Curtis' memory.
